Cloud Computing
The delivery of services over the internet. These may include storage, processing power, and applications, data centers, among others, and are delivered on-demand to users and businesses. The main benefits of cloud computing include access to resources, scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency.
To be considered a cloud computing company, the company must generally derive a majority of their revenues from cloud-based services, including software service, platform, or infrastructure. This can get a bit nuanced when considering that many companies also have large portions of their business indirectly related to the cloud. For example, Netflix relies on cloud computing technologies but is a streaming platform, while a massive portion of Amazon is retail.
